We all argue with our friends and family. Sometimes we say bad things loudly or do things that can hurt the others' feelings. It's great when all that doesn't happen, but when it does, we need to do something about it. It's a very simple something, but it can also feel like the most difficult thing in the world. That something is the act of saying sorry (and it's something the English do a lot - about eight times a day!).

Experts report that saying sorry is good for our relationships and our mental health. It reduces our stress levels by stopping us from getting worried too much. It helps us sleep at night without waking up and thinking about our problems.

In most cases, saying sorry makes a bad situation better. It's important that we say exactly what we did wrong. By doing this, the listeners understand that we know what hurts them but want to put things right, and it repairs relationships. Sometimes we make ourselves say sorry although deep inside us, we feel otherwise. This often doesn't work well because it's not an honest 'sorry'.

Saying sorry might not make everything right, but it is a step in the right direction. The other person may not accept what we have to say (and that's okay, too), but that shouldn't stop us from doing it. It can be difficult, but if we say sorry often, and mean it, then it becomes a habit. Unlike arguing all the time or not talking to your friends when they upset you, saying sorry is truly a great habit to have.

31. The people who are close to us might be hurt by our words or actions.

32. Saying sorry can help people get physically fitter.

33. We should mention our mistake when saying sorry.

34. Honest people find it easy to say sorry.

35. Saying sorry frequently could become a bad habit.

Dear Edward,

I'm travelling around Vietnam with my friends, Jason and Walton. Yesterday, we visited Mỹ Son Sanctuary in Quảng Nam, one of the most historic sites in Vietnam as well as Southeast Asia. Mỹ Sơn Sanctuary is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site that was built from the 4th century to the 13th century CE. The site is located in a picturesque valley surrounded by high mountains in Quảng Nam and near the start of the Thu Bồn River. The site has a collection of at least 70 ruined Hindu temples that the Chăm built to worship their gods. We arrived at Mỹ Son at around 7 a.m., had breakfast and then began exploring the historic temples. Some of them had some amazing statues of Hindu gods. I was mostly impressed by the good condition of the temple walls. Most wall bricks are over 1,000 years old but still beautifully red. We took lots of photos and made some clips of the temples.

I also learn a lot about the historical values of the site from a local tour guide. We heard about Chăm people's history, watched a Chăm performance with dancing and live music. We also rented some traditional Chăm costumes. I looked quite funny in them, but I kind of enjoyed it. It was so much fun! I bought some souvenirs on the site. I can't wait to give them to my family. Our visit to Mỹ Sơn was really an amazing experience for those who love historical structures. You should definitely visit it.

Strengthening family relationships means strengthening the bonds of love, respect, trust and understanding between family members. It can include family-bonding activities, such as shared meals, gaming and communication practice that help family members better understand each other's points of view and feelings.

Mealtimes are relaxed times when family members can join in important or entertaining discussions. Children who eat dinner with their families daily are likelier to have better family relationships and academic performance. Studies also show that teens who eat with their families on a regular basis have lower levels of depression and risk-taking behaviours. It does not matter what you are eating or what time of day you are eating with your family; what matters most is that you are together and taking the opportunity to communicate.

Gaming is an excellent activity for strengthening family bonds. We see that games are entertaining, but they are more valuable than that. A weekly family game can boost family satisfaction and foster family bonding. For example, playing video games together as a family can also help promote family closeness. Board games and other activities can help children develop skills, such as improved motor skills, problem-solving and communication abilities. Children refine their collaboration skills and goal-seeking behaviours as they work with other family members.

It is true that strong and regular communication strengthens family ties. As children become older, both parents' and children's expectations change. The best ways to keep open communication and understanding among family members are frequent check-ins and family gatherings. Commit to active listening by maintaining eye contact and using body language on these occasions are more willing to express their feelings when they understand that you are listening is an excellent strategy as a result. It improves family ties and creates encouraging environment in a family.
