Ludwig Van Beethoven, a German pianist and composer, was born in Germany in 1770. His grandfather was a talented singer and his father was a musician. When Beethoven was young, he learned to play the piano, violin, viola and organ. He practised hard because his father wanted him to become the next Mozart. Later, he was deaf. He couldn't play music, but could write beautiful music. Some of his famous piano pieces are Fur Elise, Symphony No.5 and Moonlight Sonata. Beethoven loved some women, but never married. He died in 1827 during a thunderstorm.
