To connect an action or an event to a point in time,you should use conjunctions of time.

• We can use now that as a conjunction of time to say that something happens as a result of something else. In informal speaking we can leave out that.

(Chúng ta có thể sử dụng now that như một liên từ chỉ thời gian để nói rằng một cái gì đó xảy ra là kết quả của một cái gì đó khác. Trong trường hợp nói chuyện thân mật, chúng ta có thể loại bỏ that.)

Now (that) he has a bike, he rides his bike every morning.

• We use before and after to talk about the order of events in the past or future.

Using conjunctions to give examples

To give examples, you should use words like for example and such as.

(Để đưa ra các ví dụ, bạn nên sử dụng các từ như for example (ví dụ) và such as (chẳng hạn).)

For example can be used at the beginning of a sentence, followed by a comma

(For example có thể được sử dụng ở đầu câu, theo sau là dấu phẩy):

Computers are used in other inventions. For example, computers are used to make flying easier.

(Máy tính được sử dụng trong các phát minh khác. Ví dụ, máy tính được sử dụng để làm cho việc bay dễ dàng hơn.)

For example can be used in the middle of a sentence, separated by commas

Computers are used in other inventions, for example, airplanes and cars.

Such as is only used in the middle of a sentence with a comma before such as and a comma after the examples.
