I’ve always loved trying new things, so when Phong invited me to go climbing, I was excited. The problem is I’m scared of heights. I first realised this when I was crossing the Glass Bridge in Sa Pa on a school trip. Suddenly, somebody screamed and I saw that part of the floor was glass. I started shaking and my hands were sweating. I was disappointed with myself and sad. 

Soon after that, I heard about the climbing class and I decided to give it a go. When I arrived and saw the climbing wall, I gasped. It was quite high, but the instructor helped me and showed me how to climb slowly and safely. At the beginning, it was quite difficult, but gradually I felt less anxious although I had to concentrate very hard. 

The experience has made me more confident. That day, I got a buzz out of climbing and I couldn’t stop smiling. Now I climb regularly and I’m never scared.  

(Tôi luôn thích thử những điều mới nên khi được Phong rủ đi leo núi, tôi rất hào hứng. Vấn đề là tôi sợ độ cao. Lần đầu tiên tôi nhận ra điều này là khi đi qua Cầu Kính ở Sa Pa trong một chuyến dã ngoại cùng trường. Đột nhiên, có ai đó hét lên và tôi thấy phần sàn nhà đó là kính. Tôi bắt đầu run rẩy và tay tôi đổ mồ hôi. Tôi thất vọng về bản thân và buồn bã.

Ngay sau đó, tôi nghe nói về lớp học leo núi và quyết định tham gia. Khi đến nơi và nhìn thấy bức tường leo núi, tôi há hốc mồm. Nó khá cao nhưng người hướng dẫn đã giúp đỡ và chỉ cho tôi cách leo lên từ từ và an toàn. Lúc đầu thì khá khó khăn nhưng dần dần tôi cảm thấy bớt lo lắng hơn mặc dù phải tập trung rất nhiều.

Trải nghiệm đã giúp tôi tự tin hơn. Ngày hôm đó, tôi cảm thấy thích thú khi leo núi và không thể ngừng mỉm cười. Bây giờ tôi leo núi thường xuyên và tôi không bao giờ sợ hãi.)
