Although you may think you are too young to worry about your future career, it is important that you start thinking about your life after high school right now so that you can take the steps necessary to any career you may choose. Some of these steps include choosing the right high school, enrolling in the necessary courses, earning good grades, getting work experience and building a resume. It can seem overwhelming trying to choose a career before you complete high school, but always keep in mind that it is never too late to change your career path and no one says you have to decide now.

There are lots of different factors that go into choosing a career path. To determine the occupation you want to enter, you need to consider your interests, how long you want to be in school, how much money you want to make, the type of work you want to do, the potential for job growth and job trends in the industry – sounds like a lot, but that is just the tip of the iceberg.

Each day you make many decisions - what to wear, who to hang out with, how to spend your time after school. Some of the decisions you make today can affect you for the rest of your life. Once you have figured out the things you like to do and the things you do well, you can begin exploring careers that include your interests and skills. Make a plan from the beginning, and once you have a plan, work the plan. Do the steps along the way each year to keep on track toward graduation and higher education.

Nearly every teen can benefit from job experience, but there are risks you must assess. Wear the kinds of clothes appropriate to the company, unless the workers wear uniforms. The interviewer will probably ask about your interests, your work experience and your goals. Answer all questions briefly. You should also prepare questions to ask the interviewer about the company and the position you are seeking. Send a follow-up letter to everyone who interviewed you no later than two days after the interview. In the letter, thank the interviewer for the time spent discussing the position with you. Let the interviewer know if you are still interested in the job.

The most popular jobs around the world may not always be so popular. Some jobs will become very important in the future, while others may stop all together. Here are three jobs that I think will be very popular in the future.

One job that will become more popular is being an astronaut. I think we will want to travel to and explore faraway planets someday, in particular Mars. For this reason, we will need more astronauts.

Another job that I believe will become more important is being a scientist. In my opinion, we will need new kinds of medicines and vaccines to protect people from new illnesses. Because of this, being a scientist, mainly a medical scientist, will become more popular.

Virtual reality designers will also be a popular job, I believe we will spend a lot more time in virtual reality. We will do lots of things in it, especially practicing surgery, doing experiments, and having meetings. As a result, we will need more people to design these virtual spaces.

The world is changing, and so are the jobs we need people to do. Young people should think about this when they plan their future careers.

You shouldn’t worry if you don’t know what job you want to have. Most young people feel the same way.

MY DREAM JOB

Hello, readers! Today, the careers advisor at my school talked to my class about different jobs, and I was really interested in the job of a 3D printing technician. The careers advisor said that 3D printing technicians used 3D printers to make things. The reason I like this job is that I love technology. However, it’s not an easy job. 3D printing technicians need to be hard-working, patient and careful because they make objects that require high accuracy, like teeth, hearing aids and car parts. Moreover, they often have to work quickly and effectively, so they need to have problem-solving skills, time management skills and creativity. I am willing to do what it takes, though.

I think it’s prefect for me because I love video games. It’s not just fun and games, though. Video games developers need to have strong IT skills and lots of creativity because they work with computers to create characters and stories for the games. They also need to be hard-working, flexible and punctual because game development projects often have tight deadlines.
